Rivers are one of the most diverse, dynamic, and threatened ecosystems in the world. When we study them, we get into the fascinating world of the organisms that inhabit them. A Colombian scientist created a deep affinity with water and started studying different species of river plants. We’ll join biologist Ana Maria Bedoya in an aquatic scientific adventure while she tries to unravel the processes that originated freshwater landscapes and biodiversity in the Andes, through her research on ecology and evolution of river plants based on fieldwork and genetic analyses.
